This painting is a richly textured semi abstract realist sunrise cloudscape over the sea at low tide.
My works are all about translating feelings of natures awe and wonder into colour and form. Mostly inspired by my time living aboard a sailboat and life sailing at sea, where I was brought face to face with the raw force of nature, its volatility, its awe, and its humbling scale. The expansiveness of those clouded skies out at sea also felt strangely like home, creating a deep and indescribable sense of connection to everything.
Created with expressive impasto layers using a range of palette knives this piece blends structured abstraction with the emotional realism of nature's shifting skies.
Sealed with two coats of UV-protective varnish, signed on the front, and stamped, named, and signed on the back again.
Comes with a certificate of authenticity and ready to hang.
