An original, one-of-a-kind painting from my Chasing Light Across Horizons series, 2026
‘Light Always Finds a Way’
30 x 30cm x 4cm deep
Acrylic and Marble Dust on Stretched Canvas
Wooden Tray Frame
This painting is a richly textured semi abstract realist sunset cloudscape over the sea.
My works are all about translating feelings of natures awe and wonder into colour and form. Mostly inspired by my time living aboard a sailboat and life sailing at sea, where I was brought face to face with the raw force of nature, its volatility, its awe, and its humbling scale. The expansiveness of those clouded skies out at sea also felt strangely like home, creating a deep and indescribable sense of connection to everything.
Created with expressive impasto layers using a range of palette knives this piece blends structured abstraction with the emotional realism of nature's shifting skies.
Sealed with two coats of UV-protective varnish, signed on the front, and stamped, named, and signed on the back again.
Comes with a certificate of authenticity and ready to hang.

Let customers speak for us
from 47 reviewsIt is a piece that still captivates us each day, with its vibrant colours and Alex’s ability to showcase her interpretation of nature. It is a piece we will pass on to our children.
Finally, I just got the painting up yesterday. It looks sooo good I'm so happy. Brings a beautiful vibrant feel to the space.
We are thrilled with Alexs diptych; an absolutely stunning set with a rich colour palette that lends itself to any setting. We love how shes painted each stroke of colour and how it comes together in unity to give movement and depth to this piece. We've our eye on another piece already.
I couldnt believe my reaction when I unpacked it. Its even more stunning than the photos and completely brings a beautiful peaceful atmosphere to our room.
Really wow... Next level quality. So impressed with it. Thank you.
As I write this I am standing in front of our fire and admiring the painting - it brings a smile to my face every day, and always garners comments when art lovers come to visit. We could not be happier! Our piece sits proudly in our living room and instantly transports me back into the mountains.
Our room looks so beautiful with this statement piece now.
The painting was absolutely more beautiful than the pictures showed - very very happy and will keep an eye out for any more work available! Could not recommend enough!
It really captures the beauty of what we saw on the west coast. The painting will be a great way for us to remember our time in NZ when in Canada. We'll keep checking out your website to see your future work. Thanks so much.
I particularly love the details of the brushstrokes when up close. And also a gorgeous view from a distance at any angle. I cant stop looking at it actually. Thank you!
Im in love with my painting! The colours are even better than what I was expecting. Looking forward to having people around to show it off.
