About the Painting
An original, one-of-a-kind painting from my Clouds Over Seascapes 2025 series.
‘Horizons That Hold Us Together’ is a richly textured, semi-abstract cloudscape capturing the dramatic movement of layered clouds as wild weather clears over a beach at low tide. Muted blues and warm blush tones reveal the first break of sunrise across the horizon.
The first rays of sunlight filter through the moody clouds, illuminating the sky and appearing again in subtle reflections across the water below.
Created through expressive impasto layers using a range of palette knives, the painting blends structured abstraction with the emotional realism of nature’s shifting skies. It reflects the connections that span continents, hearts and the natural world, and the sense of balance and continuity that holds us together.
